    MD AYURVEDA - PANCHAKARMA ADMISSION

    Panchakarma is elimination of doshas from the body. It is one of the peculiarities of Ayurveda. Since according to Ayurveda, disease is the result of imbalance of doshas, when the increase of dosha is in a large quantity the best way to get cured faster is expelling the doshas out. These procedures (Karmas) are five (Pancha) and hence they are described as Panchakarma i.e. five procedures. These are to be performed not only by the patient for getting them cured but even by healthy persons for maintaining the health. Even this is a pre treatment before rejuvenation  (Rasayana) and treatment for virility (vajikarana) also for the best progeny before conception.
    Doctor of Medicine in Panchakarma is a Clinical course. Panchakarma literally means five methods of body purification. The course deals with Purification therapies of Ayurveda and provides a basic understanding of the principles of Shodhana (Bio-Purifaction methods). The course provides methods to prevent diseases and to improve the immunity and to treat a number of diseases. 
    The course prepares student to be  a research scholar, an efficient teacher, an Ayurvedic physician and a surgeon to contribute his/ her services to the medical and health sciences. 
    For finding jobs in the position of Ayurvedic Medical Officer, candidates must have completed their degree in Ayurveda from an institution recognized by the CCIM/state government/central government and they should also have completed their compulsory internship programme.
    Pay Scale:
    Pay scale for the position of Ayruvedic Medical Officer in Government jobs in India is Rs. 15600-39100 plus a grade pay of Rs. 5400. However, there might be difference in the pay scale or grade pay in some public sector organizations calling for applications from eligible candidates for the position of Ayurvedic Medical Officer.



    Future scope :
    Since a number of people are moving towards alternative forms of medicine that are free from side-effects, many government hospitals in India are engaged in the task of formation of Auyrveda departments in addition to the already existing different departments in the allopathic medicine. Therefore, the number of job requirements for the position of Ayurvedic Medical Officer in Government organizations is expected to further increase in the future.


    There is great potential in manufacturing of equipments required for Ayurvedic treatments likePanchakarma.
