Situated in Vijaynagar, the college solely has Holiness Jagadguru Sri Sri Sri Dr. Nirmalanandanatha Maha Swamiji as the 72nd head of Adichunchanagiri Mutt who has excelled in the highest level of spiritual knowledge along with Sanskrit knowledge. The objective of the college is to provide high quality education in Ayurveda, practical exposure, clinical expertise along with spiritual, moral, cultural, social and environmental activities.

There are 12 OPDs in different branches of Ayurveda, 4 in Kayachikitsa (General Medicine), 2 in Shalakya Tantra (Eye, ENT and Dentistry), one each in Shalya Tantra (Surgery), Prasuti Tantra (Obstetrics), Striroga (Gynaecology), Kaumarabhritya (Pediatrics), Atyyika Chikitsa (Emergency Medicine) and SwasthaVritta & Agada Tantra (Preventive Medicine & Toxicology).
The institution has hostel facility for its students to stay and study. The hostel has all the amenities such as study hall, prayer hall, facilities for indoor games, magazines, and television. The hostel provides all the requisites for a perfect ambiance for study.
There is an herbal garden inside the college with rare species and medicinal plants. The vaana is conceived and designed as per the Ayurvedic text Charaka Samhita, a noble work to preserve and develop medicinal plants for the future generation.
