Managed by the SDM Educational Society, SDM College of Ayurveda and Hospital, Hassan offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses as well as Ph.D. in Ayurveda. The President of the college is Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade who was awarded the second highest award Padma Vibhushan and the Principal is Dr. Prasanna N. Rao. The faculty and the PG scholars of the college are encouraged to take up clinical studies and research projects in their relevant subjects and make a contribution in documenting and revalidating the ancient science of healing.Affiliation & Approval

Courses Offered
The institution offers Bachelor of Ayurveda in Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) course of 5 and 1/2 years duration which includes a year of compulsory internship.
The institute also offers Post Graduation courses MD / MS (Ayurveda) in 15 specialties. The duration of the course is 3 years. Ph.D. courses are also offered by the Institute in areas such as Shalya Tantra, Swasthavrutta, Kaumarabritya, Shalakya Tantra, Panchakarma, Manasaroga. The duration of Ph.D. is 4 to 5 years.
